Introduction

Apocalypse will be an animated desktop comic book.
In the tradition on Johnny castaway, it will play out a story line over a period of weeks or months.

UNLIKE Johnny Castaway, Apocalypse will work as a desktop wallpaper instead of a screensaver. There will be no need to stop what you are doing, and activate a screensaver to see what is happening in Apocalypse.

Apocalypse is a work in progress. I started it as an exercise to explore the capabilities of the desktop customization application Rainmeter,

In particular, Apocalypse will  make use of just about every feature available in Rainmeter. It will also explore ways to optimize a desktop customization to to get the most animation with the least impact on the CPU speed.

This blog will also explain in detail how apocalypse works so you can add more building, features and animations.

Like most other Rainmeter skins, each building will also act as a useful Rainmeter skin. It will access or display information about your computer, current weather, time, news feeds or shortcuts to things on your computer or the web.
